Looking for free, fun ways to cool off with the kids this summer? Here are 6 of the best Long Island splash pads, including fan favorites that anyone can access, regardless of residency:
Geiger Park in Deer Park costs $5/day for resident adults & children, or $20 for non-resident adults/$10 for non-resident kids. It's a sprawling, interactive space featuring slides, cannons, climbing nets and multiple zones for all ages. There is an amazing fenced in playground in the park and even a botanical garden. There's a snack bar right outside the spray park, as well as restrooms. They are open late June through Labor Day 10am-7pm, with free parking.

Blumenfeld Family Park in Port Washington is free to access and has no residency requirements. Along with a traditional playground, there is a nice splash pad for younger kids with button-activated jets and giant mushroom fountains. We love that this park has shady spaces, a nice walking trail and pretty garden paths. There's also space to sit and have a picnic.
Byron Lake Splash Pad in Oakdale is free with pool access and part of Byron Lake Pool complex. Daily pool admission is $2–$15 for residents and $30 for non-residents. The newly renovated splash pad area sits alongside a kiddie pool and fun water slide.
Shipwreck Cove in Bay Shore is a pirate ship-themed water playground with slides, dumping buckets, ropes—and panoramic marina views! Cost is $8 for residents with rec card, $12 for Islip residents without rec card, and $25 for non-residents. The Bay Shore Marina playground is right next door and you can grab lunch or a snack at Seaside Sally's Shack.
Bay Park in East Rockaway is free if you have a Nassau County Leisure Pass, or you can pay the non-resident fee of $8 for kids 3-14 years old and $12 for adults 15+. There is also a non-resident season pass option, with an individual pass costing $170 and family pass costing $230. This park combines an inclusive playground with ground and wall sprays so that kids of all ages can switch between sliding and splashing without a change of clothes. The park also has an amazing playground, picnic areas, athletic fields, and waterfront views.
Patchogue Beach Club in Patchogue made its debut last summer and is fully enclosed for added safety and peace of mind. Both resident and non-resident memberships are available, with non-resident plans at a higher price point. A typical family membership covers 2 adults and 3 kids, with the option to add more household members for an additional fee—as long as everyone resides at the same address. Prefer not to commit to a full season? Daily admission passes are also available for both residents and non-residents. This splash pad is thoughtfully designed with separate water play zones, making it a hit with both toddlers and older kids.

Pro Tips for visiting Long Island splash pads: Arrive early for shade, seating, and easy parking. Pack snacks—jam-packed summer days call for quick refuels. Come prepared with swim gear, towels, sunscreen, water shoes, and picnic essentials. Combine experiences—after the splash pad, visit a nearby or connected playground, grab a bite to eat at a nearby cafe or restaurant and explore the town.
